Parents As Teachers Parents are their children's first and most influential teachers. The early years of a child's life are critical for optimal development and provide the foundation for success in school and life. Parents as Teachers is a program for parents with children from birth to kindergarten. The program includes:
- home visits by certified parent educators
- parent group meetings about early childhood development and parenting
- developmental and health screenings for young children
- linkages and referrals to community networks and resources
